Teddy Bear Cookies
These adorable teddy bear cookies are soft, buttery, and surprisingly simple to make. With their charming little faces and cozy bear shape, they’re perfect for gifting, parties, or a fun baking day at home.
Ingredients
- 100 g unsalted butter, softened
- 50 g powdered sugar
- 170 g cake flour or low-protein flour
- 30 g whole egg, room temperature
- 9 g cocoa powder
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the flour and mix until the texture becomes crumbly.
2. Gradually pour in the egg mixture while stirring, then knead everything together until a soft dough forms.
3. Split the dough into two matching portions. Stir cocoa powder into one portion until fully blended to make a rich chocolate-flavored dough. Chill both doughs in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to make shaping easier.
4. Shape the cookies using the following measurements:
- Head: 20 g
- Body: 30 g
- Ears: 2 g each
- Arms: 3 g each
5. Assemble the teddy bears carefully, then place them in the freezer for 10 minutes before baking so they hold their shape better.
6. Preheat the oven to 155°C (311°F). Bake the cookies using top and bottom heat for approximately 30 minutes. After the first 10 minutes, loosely cover the cookies with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning.
7. Allow the cookies to cool completely. Melt a little chocolate and use it to draw the teddy bears’ faces and details.
Once the cookies have completely cooled and you’ve added the final chocolate details, you can arrange them neatly and wrap them in plastic for a clean, polished finish. This helps keep them fresh, soft, and perfect for gifting or storing.
Enjoy your homemade teddy bear cookies with milk, coffee, or as a sweet handmade treat for someone special!
