Easy No-Mold Mushroom Cookies
These adorable mushroom-shaped cookies are simple to make and perfect for beginners—no special molds needed! With a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture and charming red mushroom tops, they make a fun treat for parties, gifting, or cozy baking days at home.
Ingredients
- 90 g butter, softened
- 40 g powdered sugar
- 10 g egg yolk
- 160 g cake flour
- Red velvet liquid coloring, as needed
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until the mixture becomes pale and fluffy.
2. Add the egg yolk and continue mixing until smooth and fully incorporated.
3. Sift in the cake flour, then gently fold everything together until a soft dough forms with no visible dry flour.
4. Divide the dough into two portions. Mix red velvet coloring into the larger portion until evenly tinted, leaving the smaller portion plain. Wrap both doughs separately in plastic wrap and chill for about 30 minutes.
5. Shape the red dough into small mushroom caps using around 15 g each, forming rounded dome shapes. Use about 7 g of the plain dough for the stems, rolling them into curved or straight stem shapes. Create tiny dots from the plain dough and place them on top of the mushroom caps for decoration.
6. Arrange the cookies on a lined baking tray and bake at 165°C for approximately 20 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool fully before enjoying or packaging them.
These cute mushroom cookies are great for packaging as gifts or party favors. Once cooled, you can store them in airtight containers or wrap them individually in cookie plastic packaging to keep them fresh and presentable.
